It was a really nice stay. The hotel is very central, clean, warm and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They will provide you with anything you need, they also clean tidy your room every day. They provide with breakfast, it is very simple but filling, And it’s great as you can have the same breakfast for no less than €8 in a restaurant, but in Canada it is included in your stay which is amazing!! I am very satisfied and happy!! I would go back!!!
I can’t think about negative reviews about the hotel. The only thing is that We found a very weird insect outside the room next to our door, but they quickly exterminated it nd I’m sure they took the correspondent Care. Also you have to pay €2 for 1 hour WiFi (not sure if it is correct), it is not for free, it didn’t affect me because I have enough data around Europe. But you might consider that.
Water from the shower would flush so slowly that showers could not last more than 2 mins. Otherwise dirt from the pipes would start to come up. Rooms were not clean at all, hairs could be found all over the place staff barely speak english (others dont even speak clear italian) and werenotfriendly. Breakfast was simple and if you ask for more bread the staff would start complaining to themselves
3Rd floor reception and fourth floor room no elevator. Shower had no doors, floor and walls mouldy and drain was mostly plugged.
Evening staff rude and unfriendly and when I asked if we could have a fan or if the air counditioning worked I was told that as we booked the low cost accomodation it was unavailable. This was said in a very rude manner and after having to climb 4 flights of steep stairs with a suitcase was not a great start to the stay here. There was no mention of the stairs when booking and as there were a lot of elderly people staying here I am sure I am not the first person to mention this. The room was also dusty and not very clean and the bathroom not pleasant as there was mold on the ceiling and shower. There were no socket points in the bedroom so therefore had to get an extension lead to plug in the bathroom so there was power in the bedroom. Again very unsatisfactory as well as being dangerous. Breakfast was ok but the lady serving seemed uninterested in the guests and we seemed to be an inconvenience.
Very plain and basic facilities.
Hotel Canada is fraud. We gave our credit card number to make an online payment but on check out we paid using another card. Weirdly we have been charged on both the cards, that means we paid twice. I called the manager and he was very uncouth. They didnt entertain my complaint. I mailed them the proof that both accounts have been swipped and still they are nt responding. They refused to pay us our money back, They looted us on very heavy amount cause we were 3 people and stayed for 2 nights. This has been very very dissapointing. if you plan to stay here please make sure you DO NOT pay in cash cause they cheat.
The staff was rude, the "double room" was smaller than a single room. It is a classic case of cheating. Charging for a twin bed room but giving a 1-1/4 sized bed. There was no fan. When asked about it, the receptionist said. this is what we have for Booked.net. We wanted an upgrade to a genunine twin bed room , but we were refused. The manager virtually told us that if you book a room through Booked.net you shouldn't expect anything better. I would call upon booking.co to exclude this hotel from their list.
double bed was very very poor,it squeecked when you moved, mattress very thin and we rolled together into the middle, waither thin pillows, cold shower!
location is great, price is very low for Venice
not very comfortable, rooms are very tiny and the bathroom as well, breakfast is ok
The hotel is excellently located on the square just minutes from Rialto bridge so it's very easy to find it even for first-time vistors. It's close both to the tourist sights but also Strada Nova is a very short walk away so you'll have more lunch/dinning options plus a supermarket. No elevators, but that's to be expected in an old building that hasn't seen renovation in years. Rooms were passable but just about - one of bedside lights wasn't working and the heating seemed temperamental to say the least. Staff seemed a bit surly at first but over our 5 days stay they warmed up a bit.
The only major drawback is tiny breakfast area - there are about 8 -9 tables that couldn't seat everyone who came down for breakfast at the same time so if the hotel is full (and at the end of October it was still fully booked) - you might have too wait a bit. Overall, we got what we were looking for - unbeatable location bang in the centre for reasonable price (by Venetian standards) Also, I knew there's no free wifi in the hotel but 2 euros for 30 minutes still seems a bit much when you can get a cup of coffee with free wifi in some cafes in that area.
The hotel is located in the central of Venise
The customer service from the night staff , very rude and not friendly at all
Good choice for budget travelling. Cozy rooms and good simple breakfast. Good location, but not so easy to find if you first time in Venice. So the main tip – check the hotel’s location carefully.
dirty covering of beds, doubtful smell in the room
We liked the location and price. We didn't see any other hotels in Venice but we did compare the price of others. We enjoyed the breakfast and the selections they offered. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The staff in general were very serious, not light hearted and outgoing, just efficient.
We had to pay for Internet. The beds moved and with no chairs in the room we sat on the bed leaning against the wall and I kept moving the bed and loosing the pillow.
Honestly, we thought the best part was the coffee we had at breakfast.
Our bathroom was moldy and smelt like mold. The beds were very uncomfortable. Wifi was expensive. Rooms were hot and opening the windows let bugs in. Two I the three lights in the room did not work. No outlets in the room.
